As the Club's name suggests, our membership is drawn from the beautiful Southern Tablelands
area of New South Wales and the adjacent Australian
Capital Territory. For visitors outside Australia, this
map shows the general
area.
One of the Club's
key aims is to ensure that the enjoyment of heritage motoring is
shared as a family experience. We are firmly committed to the
thought that, if we do not encourage younger people to take an
interest in heritage motoring, one day these marvellous machines
will be found only in museums - or worse!
If all that sounds
terribly serious, that's not how we do things. We like to think that
we're one of the friendliest and most relaxed heritage motoring
clubs around. The whole point of the exercise is to enjoy ourselves
with our vehicles, after all.
The Club's vehicles have just one thing in common -
they are over 30 years old. Apart from that, they range
from trucks to motorcycles and from tractors to sports cars. You can see
photos of them in the page on "Our
Vehicles".
We have members in both NSW and
the ACT, and are affiliated to the Council of ACT Motor
Clubs and to the Council of Heritage Motor Clubs
(the "Bush Council"). This enables us to keep in touch
with other clubs, with events and developments of importance to our
members and, most importanly, means that our members have
access to Conditional/Concessional Registration for their
vehicles.
Finally, in case you are
thinking of becoming involved with heritage vehicles, please get in
touch with us and discuss your thoughts, particularly if you are
worried about costs. Unless you are firmly committed to owning
something exotic, you probably will be surprised to find what
an inexpensive hobby heritage motoring can be!
If you're interested, here is our
Constitution - the 'formal procedures' for the
administration of our club
And these are the Club's
By-Laws, which are the "day-to-day" operating
requirements.
